Jake and Marissa ~ A Wedding Celebration at The Loft at Peck’s Hall

 

Marissa and Jake are a stunning couple who chose a gorgeous venue for their wedding celebration.  They were married at The Loft at Peck’s Hall in Circleville, Ohio (just outside of Columbus) on May 29^th 2021.

 

It was the second time that I was honored to work with Marissa’s wonderful parents and family. Last summer I shot the wedding of Marissa’s twin sister Alaina. At both weddings I felt fortunate to watch a family who worked very hard to create a perfect wedding day for both of these gorgeous girls.  Special kudos for Marissa’s mom, Tammy,  who made sure that every detail was planned perfectly.

 

Jake and Marissa first met while attending Mount Vernon Nazarene University.  Marissa first became aware of Jake through social media. It was a mutual friend who eventually introduced them to each other.  That was a year and a half ago.

 

During that first year of dating they started to talk about marriage.  But Marissa told Jake that he should not propose until they dated for at least one full year.  As they approached that one-year mark, Jake planned a wonderful romantic day filled with surprises.  The date he chose for this special day was actually one day short of making it to exactly one year.  He ended this day by proposing to Marissa on a beautiful bridge.  His proposal included these words, “I just could not wait one more day.”

 

Marissa was especially close to her maternal grandfather who passed away recently.  She affectionately called him “Papa”.  She honored him by having an empty chair in the front row next to her beloved grandmother.  The chair held his picture and a flower and one of his favorite flannel shirts.  It was very important to her to pose for some portraits in which she wore his shirt over her wedding gown.  His bible was also used during their ceremony.  They had his bible turned to a page where he had made handwritten notes on the topic of “Love”.

 

Marissa and Alaina posed for some “twin wedding pictures” during the getting ready part of the day. Alaina joined Marissa in putting on their wedding gowns long enough to get some special photos together in their dresses.

 

Jake and Marissa will live in Mount Vernon while Jake finishes college. Marissa hopes to find a teaching job nearby.   They plan to eventually move back to Springfield to be closer her family.

 

In their spare time, they love to be active outside, hiking, watching movies and just spending time together.

 

We all wish for Jake and Marissa to know true joy, complete health and many great blessings from God.  Good luck to this wonderful couple.
